Quick answer: disarm the Ghost as you normally would and start the engine. With the engine running, press your service button five times. Five flashes confirm that service mode is on, and the car can be started and driven without your code. It switches off when you enter your code again after switching the car off and on, or by itself once the car has been driven at 32 mph or more for over 15 minutes.
Use it whenever someone else needs to drive the car and you would rather not share your disarm code. Typical moments are a service or MOT, a repair, a hand car wash, a valet, or an airport parking desk. Your code stays private and nobody has to wait for you to start the car.
If the Ghost app has been paired with your phone, you can also turn service mode on and off from the app.
There are two ways. The first is to enter your disarm sequence once the car has been switched off and on again. Two flashes confirm it, and full protection is back straight away. The second happens without you: Autowatch states that the Ghost leaves service mode once the car has been driven at 32 mph (50 km/h) for more than 15 minutes, and the 15 minutes can be adjusted when the Ghost is installed. That is a safety net in case you forget. It also means a long road test can end service mode early, so do not be surprised if the car asks for your code when you collect it.
No. In service mode the Ghost does not ask for a code, so anyone holding the key can start and drive the car. Only leave it on while the car is with someone you trust, and switch it off as soon as you have the car back.
Both models use service mode in the same way, following Autowatch’s published steps. If your Ghost 3 was fitted by us and the sequence does not work, call us on 0800 246 1482 and we will talk you through your own setup.

No. With service mode on, they can start and drive the car as normal. It is worth mentioning that a long road test at speed can end service mode, so they know why the car might ask for a code.
Until you enter your code again after switching the car off and on, or until the car has been driven at 32 mph or more for over 15 minutes. The 15 minutes can be changed when the Ghost is installed.
Yes. Autowatch calls it service or valet mode. It is the same feature.
No. Service mode means they never need it, and the Ghost does not show your code anywhere.
Yes, if the staff need to move the car. Switch it off again before you drive away.
